“Back in December, Har Mar Superstar offered fans a chance to remix his hit, ‘Tall Boy’ through a contest with music creation site Indaba. Now, a winner has been chosen by Har Mar, producer George Augusto and actress Eva Mendes, who appeared in the “Tall Boy” video.”

“The interview took place on January 24, 2010. It was the night of Har Mar Superstar’s performance at Chop Suey in Seattle. It was also the night of the Vikings’ loss in the NFC Championship. I was supposed to meet Tillmann at the venue at 8pm, but the native Minnesotan was across the street at a pizza joint, where he had been watching the game.
For approximately 25 minutes, we had a conversation on a variety of topics, which spanned from death to Kool Keith and songwriting to starring in Ghostbusters 3.”
“The Gadget Show’s” Jason Bradbury assumed the role of director, lighting engineer, cameraman, and editor to make a completely original music video for Har Mar Superstar’s “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” using a range of new consumer HD camcorders and editing software. This is the final product.

Few musicians spend more time thinking and singing about sex than the raunchy American R&B artist known as Har Mar Superstar. His songs range from “Body Request” (about having sex) to “Power Lunch” (about having sex at lunch), and his live shows are high-energy, half-naked affairs. SoundProof recently had the chance to speak with Har Mar Superstar in support of our week-long, five-part feature, “Music & Sex” (which you can find here). What follows is full transcript of that conversation.
Whip It! comes out on DVD tomorrow. I have a song on the soundtrack and appear as a roller derby coach. It’s a sweet, awesome movie. Support Drew and the awesome cast. Check it out!
